Brooklyn New York
About Brooklyn
Brooklyn is a borough of New York City in Kings County of the state of New York, USA. It is located on the westernmost edge of Long Island west of Manhattan. With 2.7 million it is the most populous of the five boroughs of New York City and the most populous county in the State of New York. Named after the Dutch town of Breukelen in the Netherlands, Brooklyn shares a border with the borough of Queens. Brooklyn was founded by the Dutch in the 17th century and grew into a busy port city by the 19th century. Many Brooklyn neighborhoods are ethnic enclaves. Having a larger Jewish population than Jerusalem, the borough has been described as "the most Jewish spot on Earth", with Jews forming around a quarter of its population. Over 600,000 Jews, particularly Orthodox and Hasidic Jews, have become concentrated in such historically Jewish areas as Borough Park, Williamsburg, and Midwood.

About Williamsburg neighborhood in Brooklyn
Williamsburg is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, bordered by Greenpoint to the north; Bedford–Stuyvesant to the south; Bushwick and East Williamsburg to the east; and the East River to the west. Numerous ethnic groups still inhabit enclaves within the neighborhood, including Italians, Jews, Hispanics, Poles, Puerto Ricans, and Dominicans. In 1638, the Dutch West India Company purchased the area's land from the Lenape Native Americans who occupied the area. In 1661, the company chartered the Town of Boswijck, including land that would later become Williamsburg. Williamsburg was incorporated as the Village of Williamsburgh within the Town of Bushwick on April 14, 1827.
