M16 crop in Hubble Palette

M16 crop in Hubble Palette -- "Pillars of Creation"
The Pillars of Creation is a region of interstellar gas and dust within the Eagle Nebula (M16), known for its striking appearance and role as a stellar nursery. It is located roughly 7,000 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Serpens.  This is a joint project of James Foster and Michael Stecker using my Celestron 11-inch SCT at f/7.  The photo was taken  using the Hubble Palette with a monochrome camera through Sulfur-II, Hydrogen alpha and Oxygen-III filters.  Total exposure time is 7 hours.

A crop of a taller pillar in M16
This appears taller than the Pillerrs of Creation photo captured by the Hubble Telescope.
Looks like a bird pirched on a stick.
