"Pillars of Creation"
The Pillars of Creation is a region of interstellar gas and dust within the Eagle Nebula (M16), known for its striking appearance and role as a stellar nursery. It is located roughly 7,000 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Serpens. This is a joint project of James Foster and Michael Stecker using my Celestron 11-inch SCT at f/7. The photo was taken using the Hubble Palette with a monochrome camera through Sulfur-II, Hydrogen alpha and Oxygen-III filters. Total exposure time is 7 hours. file: M16c11SHO_SII_Ha_OIII3A_2ndVERcropped-acrrot2bb1.jpg Click here for full resolution photo Photographic Data telescope: Michael Stecker's Celestron 11-inch (black tube) SCT with Starizona 0.72X reducer/flattener FL= 2011 mm mount: iOptron CEM60 guiding: Off-axis with ZWO ASI120MM mini camera imaging camera: ZWO ASI6200MM-Pro monochrome camera (cropped image) exposure:
