NGC 4216 galaxy group in Virgo
The three main galaxies in this photo are: NGC 4222 (left), NGC 4216 (bright one at center) and NGC 4206 (upper right).  NGC 4216 is a metal-rich intermediate spiral galaxy located not far from the center of the Virgo Cluster[2] of galaxies, roughly 55 million light-years away. This is a joint project of James Foster and me using my Celestron 11-inch Schmidt Cassegrain telescope (black tube) at f/7 with a 4.6-hours exposure. The image was cropped.
